The Yellow-Wallpaper !!! Post 2 !!!
The Yellow-Wallpaper, the title itself is catchy. When I at first heard of the title, it was somehow obvious to know what the story is about, as the title suggests, it was about a big paper in the wall that is yellow. I thought, this story is going to be about art. I thought that someone would try to figure out the true meaning of that Wallpaper. After reading the story, I have realized that it is not exactly what I thought but somehow related to my presumptions. It explains the suffering of a woman for not being able to free and express herself to the full extent. It explains the domination of males over females. It demonstrates that the women felt locked inside that creepy wallpaper and that wallpaper helped her to express her real feelings and share it to the whole world. It's a turning point for females that they should be free as equal as male. I liked the story because, it is very detailed and easy to understand. I would definitely tell a friend to read it because many of them may still feel the way the narrator was feeling.

I agree with you Md, she suffered from not being able to express herself to her full potential. The story was quite an amazing journey. It was the most remarkable thing that has happen to me, completely marvelous.

ReplyDeleteI agree with what you are saying here. At first I definitely thought this would be a very boring and long "nothing to do with anything" type of story. But you shouldn't judge a story by it's title either I guess. Overall, the moral of the story was to just put it out there as to how women were dominated, over by the male sex and how hard it was for the protagonist to get a grip over herself towards the end of the story when she decided to stand up for herself. And I would also suggest this story to a friend :)
